I will be teaching and performing Turkish Roman dance at the festival

The festival aims to bring together some of the UK’s best teachers and performers in Middle Eastern, Near Eastern, North African, Turkish and Persian; Music, Song and Dance to share their knowledge and entertain. In many of the workshops the components of music, song, rhythm and dance are studied separately at various levels to then be brought together later on.

There are also stand-alone workshops and seminars and possibilities for advanced level personal tuition. The live music component is important to the ethos of this event and will feature in as many dance classes as possible.

Every evening we are treated to performances from our teachers as well as guest performers for dancing or listening pleasure. We welcome all levels of dancers and musicians, from beginner to professional.

The Festival takes place at a spacious Community Centre near Bath, England with Workshop Marquees situated in the adjacent fields where participants can camp for the duration of the the 3 day event

Featuring International Superstar ELIS PINHEIRO!!

We had a second night of epic music and dance to celebrate those we have loved and lost and those who are living with cancer today. We were lucky to have international bellydancer, Elis Pinheiro, all the way from Brazil, as the star of our show, who also taught brilliant workshops the following day, jointly hosted with my dance partner, Stephi Briggs.

We raised over £1,400 for Macmillan and Cancer Research UK, on top of the £2k we raised in 2016. Watch this space for 2018's 3rd Moon and Stars Showcase.

We were also entertained by the supremely talented Hazir band and so many other beautiful dancers and friends, all coming together for this great cause. It was a beautiful evening.

About the workshop:

This is a creative movement immersive workshop to help you break through to your inner goddess and explore the mysteries of these goddess archetypes through art, music and myth.

Last Summer we explored the Lover and the Queen, Aphrodite and Hera through various Ritual Embodiment keys such as moving meditation, walk, posture and powerful archetypal gesture work.

This year, we will be exploring the Wild Woman and the Warrior: Artemis and Athena.
Within every woman move primal forces represented by the Goddess in Her many aspects.

  • Wild Artemis is the Intuitive and Instinctual power of the Feminine Divine, earthy and indomitable.
  • Athena is the principle of wisdom, word and mastery; a Companion of Heroes and Warrior of Truth.

How do they stand? How do they move? How do they affect the world around them and each other?
Let's gather round and behold their images, read their stories and move through their mysteries.
Let's mirror back to the Goddess Her gift of Inspiration as we dance.

About the Photography

You will be personally styled and photographed as Artemis/Athena in a wonderful location by the fabulously talented Paola,. You will receive digital copies of your photoshoot. Having experienced this myself last year, I can say, she manages to find the Goddess within you and capture the perfect shot of you embodying the true woman you are.
