About me

Biog: Sacha

Sacha has been dancing and teaching for 18 years and is known for her improvisational Turkish Oryantal and Turkish Romani style of dancing, American Cabaret (or Vintage Orientale), but has also been exploring more lyrical forms of dancing which adds to her creative flair. She set up the Damara Dancers and Çarşamba bellydance troupes. Sacha also puts on regular bellydance shows for charity and hosts various international and national teachers for interesting workshops.

Sacha offers quality bellydance classes in a range of different styles, specialising in Turkish Oryantal for all levels. Come along for a fun way to keep fit, improve your flexibility and have fun. Regular weekly classes via Zoom: Wednesdays at 7:45p-9pm. Open to all levels and abilities. We focus on technique so suitable for beginners/improvers but also learn a new choreogrpahy every 6 weeks. The class is also suitable for improvers/advanced. All styles, specialising in Turkish. This class aims to help students learn technique, have fun and bring out the gorgeous dancer within.

Biog: Damara Dancers and Çarşamba

The Damara Dancers formed many years ago by a group of friends who share a passion for bellydance and creativity. Since then, they have carved a niche in that their performances are known for their vibrancy and energy and their routines for being a little bit "different". Their costumes are often uniquely designed by Katyenka. They are occasionally joined by Sacha’s Wednesday group of improvers known as Çarşamba (pronounced Cha-Sham-Bah), which means Wednesday in Turkish, or is also a district in Istanbul
